Hi everyone. I've been a poster on this site for most of the year and it has been a positive experience. As a former Howard Dean volunteer I too learned the great importance of becoming involved in politics, particularly in local politics. I spent a good part of this year contributing to many campaigns from Presidential all the way down through local offices. I have also been supporting congressional candidates across the country.
This year, I became a candidate for New York State Assembly. I am running a small self-financed campaign against a 2 term incumbent who has a good bank roll and name recognition, but has been rather ineffective in a broken legislative system.
After debating my opponent, I have decided that I can win this election. But I need help. I have very little money and will need to purchase signs all around town for name recognition and I would like to be able to afford a mass mailing the week before election day. I appreciate any help anyone is willing to give. No contribution is too small (or too large). $1, $5, anything would help.
My website is www.electdantorres.com. It's a very basic sight because I had a friend do it for free. I run a tightly budgeted campaign, much like I will seek a highly disciplined state budget. Contribution instructions are on the site.
Thank you in advance to anyone who can help send a problem solver to Albany!
