Guiliani attacks Democratic health plans as 'socialist'.
"We've got to do it the American way," Giuliani said during a town hall forum in Rochester, New Hampshire. "The American way is not single-payer, government-controlled anything. That's a European way of doing something; that's frankly a socialist way of doing something."
Old news, but today it raised a pair of questions that I'd like to ask of any conservative who agrees with Guiliani:
First, do you think that the poor should be entitled to police protection? In other words, should your tax dollars go toward protecting the poor to the same degree they protect the rich?
Second, if George W. Bush instituted a draft tomorrow with the same high standards for recruitment (that is, anyone who could pick up a rifle), would you go serve your country? In other words, would you be willing to risk your life for the sake of every American, rich or poor, entrepreneur or "welfare queen"?
