I'll be upfront about this. When I saw the Move-On ad, I thought it was too heavy handed to label Petraeus as a traitor. I also immediately said to myself, "wow the Republicans are going to score points on this."
What really gets me though is that conservative organizations say things that are far worse all the time and get a free pass for doing so. Just this week Peter King said that there are "too many mosques in America."

What really gets me though is that conservative organizations say things that are far worse all the time and get a free pass for doing so. Just this week Peter King said that there are "too many mosques in America." Why isn't there more reaction to this. And I don't mean a reaction from bloggers. Democratic leaders need to call attention to these kind of comments and to do so repeatedly.
Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama should take out an ad in the biggest paper in Michigan with this quote boldly highlighted. The ad should then talk about the close relationship between King and Giuliani.
Then the next time Pat Robertson opens his mouth or Bill O'Reilly says that San Francisco should be taken out by terrorists another full page ad should be paid for. And Harry Reid should introduce a motion in the Senate condemning these statements.
I think the idea that Democrats need to behave like Republicans is overstated. But here is one place where we could learn from them. The moment the Move-On ad appeared there was a concerted effort to use it to Republican advantage. We should give conservatives a taste of their own medicine.
And they have far more people saying stupid things then we do.
