"Feds raid pot-laced-candy factory"
i just heard the story on msnbc. they mentioned the word "medical" once, and never even said that the place was located in california, a state where the vast majority supports medicinal marijuana.
but it's just a pot-laced candy factory, what's the big deal about that? (insert stoner joke here)
my best friend's grandma eats these edibles as an antiemetic. marijuana is the best thing she's found to reduce the nausea her illness has caused her. she eats her medication because her lungs couldn't handle smoking.
but you're not going to hear about her in the news. they're not going to discuss what will happen if she happens to go to a club that no longer has edibles. how she will have to go back to a doctor, and begin her search for medication anew.
you won't hear about the tens of thousands of other truly sick people all across the state of california who will have to do the same thing.
i also don't think they'll tell you about the fact that a lot of people in california will think the dea is a fucking joke for spending two years collecting evidence against an outfit that has ONLY SOLD DRUGS TO PEOPLE WITH FUCKING PRESCRIPTIONS FROM REAL FUCKING DOCTORS while urban and rural communities are raped by methamphetamines and other drugs that actually harm people.
i don't think they'll mention that.
they'll also forget to mention that pot has never actually been proven to kill anyone, while alcohol and tobacco kill hourly. i'd be highly surprised if they mentioned that fact.
i'm fucking pissed. you should be too. take a moment to visit the marijuana policy project, and inform yourself if you don't know why the war on medicinal marijuana is unjust.
