According to Pox, link (oh, I shudder to do this) here, Newt will not be throwing his hat into the ring for the Presidential Campaign.
"Newt is not running," spokesman Rick Tyler said. "It is legally impermissible for him to continue on as chairman of American Solutions (for Winning the Future) and to explore a campaign for president."
The news clip is very short and I have little to add.
He had said previously that he would run, given a little condition/incentive:
For several months Gingrich said he would run for president if he could raise $30 million dollars. No candidate in this race has ever raised that much in one quarter.
Hey Newtie, how much did you collect (there were a lot of little wankers out there just praying for him to run), and where is that money going now?
Of course, he had hinted in the past that he might considered pretending wanting to run in order advance his own agenda/ego:
Gingrich joked with FOX News more than a year ago that his flirtation with a White House run was in part to sell books and give lectures, and to focus the debate on his issues.
Isn't it just a shame? Think how he could have raised the bar of political discourse in this race.
Or maybe the whole "government small enough to drown in the bathtub" was only an idea worthy of pursuing when the government was trying to help the people. Now that it's main function seems to be decimating the middle class and sending all of our tax money to corporation "friends", (even though it's much "bigger" today under Republican rule), big government is OK.
