I just received my first robo-call (I live in Florida). Since I hadn't seen anything up for that yet, I thought I'd put up a place for people to note anything about calls they've gotten: what they've received and when, who it was for and why (and what was wrong with who it was against), any scurrilous accusations, and whether a candidate sponsored it or not.
My report, over the jump.
Background: I live in the Florida panhandle. I'm registered as an Independent (my husband is registered as a Democrat). I donated to Planned Parenthood last year. In 2004 we got ridiculous quantities of "Hey, Democrats are evil and your children are in danger" schlock snail mail. I'm only Independent because the Democrats aren't far enough left. Someone didn't pay for the high quality filtered voter contact list...
I just received my first robo-call of this election season. Apparently Mike Huckabee is God's gift to the right-to-life/anti-same-sex-marriage group and the other Republican candidates are evil scum who think that women should be able to get abortions whenever they want and/or gay marriage is just fine.
There was a little blurb at the end about supporting Broward County Right To Life and the message ended with "God Bless You" (no candidate statement so I assume it's not supported by Huckabee).
I've got a co-worker who's getting five or six calls a day, so I was wondering when they were going to get around to me.
And I like chocolate cream pie best. Not the mousse stuff.
