Go here!!!! NEW THREAD!!!
Donate Here! AND GO VOLUNTEER THIS WEEKEND. See the latest totals here! Check out the original fundraising appeal.
Update We're at $5.1 million as of 6:40 Pacific Time! And I'm a big dummy and there were many errors in this diary. Fixed!
Update #2 We seem to be stuck at $4.955 million (they're probably stopping the counter so as not to discourage people). For you Ron Paul fans, $4.955 million is the equivalent of approximately 1.7 blimps, 48 hot air balloons, or 15,200 tons of tin foil.
Update #3 We're over $5.6 million (10:44 EST)! That's literally millions of dollars! Literally 5.6 millions! Let's hit $6 million, daggummit! Yes we can!
Objectives:
- Match Hillary Clinton's $5 million loan!!!
- Beat Ron Paul's daily fundraising record and use money on something other than a blimp
- Crash the gates. And what not.
- Volunteer for Obama this weekend. Phone calls for non-Feb-state residents, door knocking for others.
Imagine what Barack Obama will do with this $5 million: This is money that's going directly to advertising in key states, but it's also going to paid staff in those states. To win in the caucus format, you need organization on the ground to make sure folks know how to participate. We have several Caucuses ahead.
Barack can also win tomorrow's news cycle if he matches Hillary's loan. That's another big thing.
Go donate!!!!
Help Match Bill and Hillary's $5 Million Loan By Donating to Obama
UPDATE: Here's my favorite moment from the Los Angeles debate. The media missed this compeltely, but it brilliantly illustrates how well Barack Obama will manage your donations:
MS. CUMMINGS: Well, we've got a question on this that's come in on politico.com. And it echoes, I think, a message that you all might be fighting up against if Mitt Romney turns out to be your opponent come fall. We've talked about McCain. Now we have Romney's strengths to address.
Candidate Topic PagesMore Politics NewsNow -- (name inaudible) -- of Pasadena, California, says he views the country as a very large business. And neither one of you have ever run a business. So why should either of you be elected to be CEO of the country.
SEN. OBAMA: Let me just also point out that Mitt Romney hasn't gotten a very good return on his investment during this presidential campaign. (Laughter, applause.) So I'm happy to take a look at my management style during the course of this last year and his.
I think they compare fairly well. (Laughter, cheers, applause.)
ZING!!!!!
PS: Mitt Romney's children have got to be bitter!
Update: A sophisticated chart that shows our progress tonight!
