As Meteor Blades has so eloquently explained, those of us who are troubled by the direction the site has taken due to posts and posters which are spurious, dishonest, and of negligible value in support of the candidates for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States, are required to take action against these voices if we wish for the content of the site to improve.
It is my belief that this is correct, but that we should take the further step of letting it be known if we are willing to take this duty upon ourselves, in order to encourage those of like mind.
It is of the highest importance that we do so in a manner which does not also serve our own self-interest. Supporters of Barack Obama ought to take the lead in condemning those who pollute the site in the attempt to aid the candidacy of Obama. Supporters of Hillary Clinton must do likewise.
Condemning your allies when they act badly is an act which demonstrates our integrity.
While I do not support his candidacy, I prefer Barack Obama and, in lieu of better options, cast my vote for him last Tuesday. I will attempt to be the change that I want to see in the site, and will attempt to help police posts in favor of Obama. Although my available time here is limited, other supporters of Obama who wish to help me can email me to help bring posts making spurious and dishonest claims in favor of his candidacy and I will attempt to help police them as I am able.
I hope that others who wish to improve our site and raise the level of our discourse will be willing to join me in this venture.
