The league is now full. I wanted to remind those who joined that the draft is scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, March 15th, at 5:00 pm Eastern, but mainly I'm posting this so I can give interested Kossacks a chance to vote on who they think will win the final division. Plus one final chance to tweak Cub's fans.
Here are links to the previous diaries with polls:
National League Central
American League Central
National League East
American League East
National League West
Well that's it. For those who joined, good luck with your seasons!! I'll see you at the draft tomorrow!!!
And, as always: Go 'Stros, Obama '08, & Cubbies suck!!!
(A random thought posted below the break - for those who are interested.)
P.S.: No disrespect intended for polling the American League West last, but it does allow me to bring up a bit of oddness in the league (the actual league, that is - the MLB). Every division in Major League Baseball has at least five teams except the American League West. The AL West has only four teams in it's division.
However, the National League Central shares the "oddball" distinction with the AL West, as it has six teams. (All other divisions have exactly five teams.) I haven't found an reasonable explanation for this oddity. Why not switch one team from the NL Central over to the AL? (To be honest, I thought the Brewers were originally an AL team to begin with, so why move them over?)
The only explanation I can think of, is that they wanted an even number of teams in each league (for balanced scheduling purposes) - but it still seems a bit odd to me.
Anyhow, just a random thought.
