Bob Novak (yeah, yeah, I know) is reporting that Obama cannot pick Hillary as VP because Michelle doesn't want her on the ticket after all the unloading she did on him, and if hell hath no fury like a woman who's husband has been dissed, heeere's Michelle. There could be some truth to this rumor as Michelle has not been silent when Barack has been attacked.
The other behind the scenes rumor the Prince of Darkness is reporting on is the Democratic insiders' blessing of Ted Strickland as a potential Veep. He could bring Ohio and the Rust Belt, and the working class American white voters Hillary is so suddenly fond of, along with no ambitions of his own at 66 years of age, plus executive experience as Ohio Gov. and the smarts to wade through Washington power politics due to his 6 terms in Congress.
I don't know what kind of a candidate he would be, but could he turn out to be the equivalent of Johnson for Kennedy and Gore for Clinton in terms of specs for the job? It's anybody's guess. I, for one, never bought the it needs to be another woman to appease Hillary's voting bloc theory. It is too obvious a theory and if there's one thing I learned watching politics over a lifetime, in presidential politics, the obvious never pans out.
Meanwhile, for you Lieberman watchers out there, there might still be a chance of kicking him out of the party. Leaders are making it known, apparently in no uncertain terms, to Harry Reid, that if Joe addressed the Republican Convention, he has to be pushed out of the Democratic Party. Get a load of this stunner (why am I not surprised): the traitor is poaching Hillary's supporters to turn their support to McCain if their choice of Hillary is not foisted on the party as a nominee. What a bastard!
