I keep reading that the Clinton campaign's bogus count of the 'popular vote' excludes four of the caucus states. Why is it that only four of the caucus states are listed as not having their popular vote tallied?
I live in Anchorage, and our Democratic caucus was held on a cold night in February. There was a huge traffic jam of vehicles trying to get to the middle school where the Anchorage caucus was held. All the parking lots at the school and the adjacent commercial parking lots were full, and thousands of folks in parkas were slogging through the cold from all directions to the middle school.
The entire interior of the school was literally wall to wall people, smooshed together in the hallways and all the classrooms. There must have been 4-5,000 people at the Anchorage caucus. The other Alaskan towns also reported very large turnouts.
We (Alaskan Democrats) voted 75% for Obama. Apparently Alaska is not counted as one of the four caucus states without a popular vote tally.
I don't know how anyone could have calculated an accurate 'popular vote' that night. Does anyone here know if there was an 'official' popular vote count submitted from the Alaskan caucuses?
We may be a low population state, but we had a hell of a turnout. And I think Alaska has a good chance of becoming a blue state in November, especially if Barack comes up here for a public rally.
