It looks like that long forgotten "Phase 2" of the investigation into pre-war intelligence has finally happened.
Talking points memo has links with PDFs, links to McClatchy and some quotes from Senator Rockefeller's press release.
Statements by President Bush and Vice President Cheney regarding the postwar situation in Iraq, in terms of the political, security, and economic, did not reflect the concerns and uncertainties expressed in the intelligence products.
Or as McClatchy puts it...
Bush knew Iraq claims weren't true
A long-awaited Senate Select Intelligence Committee report made public Thursday concludes that President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney made public statements to promote an invasion of Iraq that they knew at the time were not supported by available intelligence.
I truly am shocked. (I never expected phase II of that report to actually ... um happen)
All snark aside, this may not resonate as breaking news for this community as we all pretty much knew this already.
(It is like saying Water is wet, the grass is green, and GWB lied to the American people today)

Washington, DC -- The Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, John D. (Jay) Rockefeller IV, and a bipartisan majority of the Committee (10-5), today unveiled the final two sections of its Phase II report on prewar intelligence. The first report details Administration prewar statements that, on numerous occasions, misrepresented the intelligence and the threat from Iraq. The second report details inappropriate, sensitive intelligence activities conducted by the DoD’s Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy, without the knowledge of the Intelligence Community or the State Department.
