The Texas Medical Association that is. They dropped their support of Cornyn.
We are only $35 away from reaching our goal this quarter. We only have one day left. Click on the thermometer to help Rick Noriega (and maybe some of the others on our list)
Rick Noriega has had a good week. Let's raise just a little more and turn it into a great start for this week.
The medical endorsement being dropped certainly isn't good news for Cornyn. Now they haven't immediately endorsed Noriega, but that certainly does not hurt.
What the Texas Medical Association said (read full article) here
TMA President Dr. Josie Williams says "Texas physicians are deeply offended that Sens. John Cornyn and Kay Bailey Hutchison chose to protect insurance companies’ profits instead of protecting our patients’ health. For months, you have promised physicians you would not let the cut take place on July 1. Twice in the past two weeks, you have voted against bills that would have stopped the cut. Now it is just four days from taking effect. We expect you to keep your promise. It’s up to you to stop the cut."
The Association is so mad that it’s political wing, TEXPAC, is withdrawing its endorsement of Cornyn’s reelection bid. In a letter to Cornyn TEXPAC Chair Dr. Manual Acosta writes "There is talk and then there is action. We expect our elected officials to show leadership and do the right thing. Absent that, TEXPAC has rescinded our endorsement of your candidacy."
So anyways, let's do our part. $35 more dollars to Rick Noriega atAct Blue.
Once we reach the $1500 goal we will set a new goal for the rest of the cycle.
