I made a video last weekend featuring some Nebraskan voices that I'd like to share with you now.
These are real Nebraskans expressing their support for Scott in their own words:
If you support the 50 State Strategy, I don't think I need to tell you that these Nebraskans are counting on you...
Now, it's been a great few weeks for highlighting Scott Kleeb's strength on rural issues and his appeal to rural voters; people all over love a former ranch hand running for United States Senate.
That showed when Scott Kleeb was featured this morning in the New Yorker in a piece by Lizzie Widdicome in the "Real Man Department" under the title Where's the Beef? It also showed in this Thomas Schaller piece in Salon about Scott's victory in a head-to-head contest with his opponent, Republican Mike Johanns, in a milking competition at the Custer County Fair: The Mother's Milk of Nebraska Politics.
What I'd like to do is provide a bit more context to these two stories. First I'd like to share some exclusive, never-before-seen, on-the-ground pictures from the milking contest, then I'd like to share a short cowboy poem by R.P. Smith of Broken Bow.
Here's the photo we've all seen of Scott's victory in the milking competition from the Custer County Fair in Broken Bow, Nebraska:
But here's the photo no one has yet seen of Scott's partner in victory: Lola the Cow!
And here's Scott himself milking Lola on his way to victory, (I'm hope Lola appreciates we showed you her front end first.)
Finally, cowboy poet, R.P Smith wrote a poem in honor of the milking competition:
These folks have gathered up to have a little fun
a Friendly competition to make cow juices run
The Media is represented, folks from education, too
Ranchers and politicians who will share their point of view
Some of Nebraska's Finest are here before you now
but each one is just another jerk if you were to ask the cow.
R.P. Smith
Now, all that is fairly hokey stuff. Scott knows it. R.P. Smith knows it. Lola knows it, too, I'm sure. But the truth is that Scott Kleeb is beloved and respected by rural voters for a reason. Voters all over Nebraska are counting on Scott to come through for them in November.

You see, the 50 State Strategy, if it's about anything, is about candidates like Scott Kleeb running for Senate in the state of Nebraska. Scott's run for office is not a novelty or a gimmick here: like you saw in that video, it's about policies that affect real people's lives.
Scott gets that. That value runs through his entire campaign. You see it in South Omaha, where Scott went door-knocking last weekend, you see it in Lincoln where Scott's support among students runs deep, and you see it rural towns like Burwell, ranch country where the sandhills rise up from the great plains and where I videotaped those rural supporters of Scott Kleeb last Friday.
If you support Scott and the 50 State Strategy, we would love your help!
