I'm going to confess something to America. It's not the service academies proudest achievement, but it happens with every class that goes through a service academy.
If you GRADUATE from a service academy with the lowest GPA, every other cadet/midshipmen donates a small amount (usually $5) to that person. (At ~4,000 total cadets, you get about $20,000)
Now, Sen. McCain, are you telling me that you risked the future of your career, and now this country because you want to be president, on a bet that you lost by 5 people?
I'm sorry it's short, but it's true.
At West Point, it's called "the goat," named after the Naval Academy mascot, so I guess at Navy the call it the mule or whatever.
$20,000. To risk your career. All you had to do was get the lowest GPA.
Sen McCain was very close, but no cigar. So now what? He gets to be ridiculed on his class rank, and doesn't even has his $20,000 to show for it.
Is his appearance in the casino a mystery to anyone anymore?
