Surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet, but there's a major problem with air travel today.
Every major airport in the United States was experiencing flight delays Tuesday afternoon because of a communications breakdown at a Federal Aviation Administration facility, the administration said.
The facility south of Atlanta is having problems processing data, requiring that all flight-plan information be processed through a facility in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Atlanta usually processes all flight plans for flights on the East Coast, while Salt Lake City handling the West. The net result ... a whole bunch of planes are stuck on the ground. However, the FAA has not lost communication with any planes in the air.
