I go insane watching the tv while some well coached Republican delivers his talking points without any rebuttal.
I hate screaming my responses wishing they could hear me right through the tv.
It drives me up the frickin wall.
And my husband goes in the other room. And my kitties look up at me wondering if I'm ok because other than then or when I'm watching the Chicago Cubs or Chicago Bears games, they never hear me raise my voice.
It's why I love Keith and Rachel and Cafferty and Arianna, and Bill, and often Chris and Dan, and sometimes Anderson.
But tonight I want to be proactive and try to keep my bloodpressure under control by putting out some of the spin likely to be heard tonight along with some rebuttal. Maybe we can get something out there now BEFORE they get control of the post-event narrative.
TALKING POINT: He's all talk. Yeah, he gives a great speech, but that doesn't mean he can run the country.
REBUTTAL: He has run the largest, most successful political campaign in history, raising more money, organizing more volunteers, recruiting more top talent and using the best strategy and tactics. He beat the Clinton Machine, the same machine that beat the Republicans twice.
TALKING POINT: He's popular because he is just a celebrity.
REBUTTAL: You mean like those Republican unknowns Reagan, Fred Thompson and Arnold?
Americans are smart; they can tell the difference between a pop culture star and a Harvard graduate who has accomplished more in his 47 years than most people do in two lifetimes.
TALKING POINT: He's the messiah. Obamessiah.
REBUTTAL: No doubt that America is hungry for leadership and Obama is filling the void. This country is in trouble and people are desperate for someone who knows what they're going through and has the integrity and honesty and intelligence to lead us back to a strong America.
TALKING POINT: He doesn't have the experience, that's why he picked Biden to make up for his weakness.
REBUTTAL: So when did choosing one of the smartest, most dedicated, knowledgable, and experienced public servants as your vp become a bad idea? That's one of Obama's greatest strengths - surrounding himself with smart, competent people. Keeping the best people is one of the most important traits of a successful leader.
Just a start. What else will we hear tonight?
