Washington is broken and to fix it, we need leaders who are willing to put partisanship aside and fight hard on behalf of American families.
That is why I am supporting my friend and fellow Iraq war veteran, Jon Powers for Congress.
In the Army, we have a saying: "Lead, follow, or get out of the way."
Jon proved himself on the battlefields of Iraq as a leader who won the respect, not only of those who served under him, but of his fellow Army officers as well.
His commanding officer praised Jon's "extraordinary management skills, leadership, and unmatched talent."
Jon is one battle buddy I need with me in Congress so together, we can lead the fight for the changes we need all across our great country.
Jon needs our support to have the resources necessary to spread his message of change. He’s so close to reaching his $10,000 goal in grassroots contributions – and with your help he can make it. Please join me and support Orange to Blue candidate Jon Powers for Congress today.

Jon knows that we need a change in Iraq and here at home. That's why when he came back from Iraq, he started to teach in his hometown of Clarence, NY. He also started a nonprofit organization to help the children of Iraq rebuild their lives.
Now Jon wants to fight for the change we need in Washington.
Jon is running for Congress because he knows that business as usual in Washington is not getting the job done for those who have lost their jobs or can no longer afford health care.
He knows that business as usual is why returning veterans have had to struggle for years to get the care they need and the benefits they deserve.
He knows that business as usual means continuing an open-ended commitment to refereeing a religious civil war in Iraq instead of taking the fight to the terrorists who attacked us on 9/11 where they are most strong – in Afghanistan.
Jon Powers will fight to end business as usual in Washington so we can finally bring our troops home from Iraq, and bring our jobs home to America .
He will fight for energy independence and freedom from the special-interests down in Washington.
He will put Western New Yorkers first – just as he did when he was in the Army.
Even though I am in a tough race myself, I contributed to Jon to help him bring about the change we need. I hope you'll consider doing the same thing.
Please join me in supporting Jon Powers for Congress – I know he will make us proud.
