I apologize if this has already been diaried, but I looked, honest!
According to this story in today's Boston Globe Sarah Palin has quite the history of transferring from college to college. The headline says 'Palin well-traveled during her college years' and led me to believe that perhaps she'd seen more of the world than Alaska's North Slope. But alas:
Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin seems to have switched colleges at least five times in six years, including two stints at the University of Idaho before graduating from there in 1987.
The story traces her travels as follows:
Fall, 1982: Hawaii Pacific University, in the business administration program as a full-time student.
Spring 1983 and Fall 1983: North Idaho College, a two-year school in Coeur d'Alene, about 30 miles east of Spokane.
Fall 1984 - Spring 1985: University of Idaho, the state's flagship institution. She majored in journalism with an emphasis in broadcast news.
Fall 1985 - Matanuska-Susitna College in Palmer, Alaska
Spring 1986 - Spring 1987: Back to University of Idaho
Perhaps more a matter of prurient curiosity than of any lasting value, but it's not a simple thing to transfer from one school to another, and to do it several times is pretty
odd. It's especially odd in that this doesn't seem to reflect any kind of definitive pattern, i.e. transferring to a higher level school, or a less expensive school, etc. She also switches from a four year to a two year school, and then back again to a four year school.
I'm dizzy just thinking about trying to wrestle with the registrars for transcripts. Thoughts?
And, what was she doing in Spring, 1984?
