This could be the clip that ends McCain's campaign...or, at least, it should.
Today, during a humiliating performance on The View, John McCain told the panel that he believes Roe v. Wade was a bad decision.
Asked about his views today by the vile Elisabeth Hassleback, McCain tried to get away with yammering about nominating strict Constitutionalists and not "imposing a litmus test on any issue." But under pressure from Barbara Walters, McCain finally stated, "I believe Roe v. Wade was a very bad decision."
Folks, this should be a gamechanger. This line should go out in ads immediately. It should be e-mailed to every woman you know. It could win us the election.
Most Americans do not believe McCain would seek to overturn Roe v. Wade. Most Americans are not well-informed. Let's inform them.
From the McCain website:
John McCain believes Roe v. Wade is a flawed decision that must be overturned, and as president he will nominate judges who understand that courts should not be in the business of legislating from the bench. Constitutional balance would be restored by the reversal of Roe v. Wade, returning the abortion question to the individual states...however, the reversal of Roe v. Wade represents only one step in the long path toward ending abortion.
This is just one clip from what was an amazing show. Please do watch the rest if you can. There are more gotcha moments than I've ever seen in a McCain interview.
I just wanted to highlight the Roe issue in particular as so many surveys have shown that the VAST majority of women want to keep abortion safe, rare and legal.
