First, let me point you to oldbookguy's earlier diary, which features much better photography!
But here are some pics and videos of my day in Manchester, NH...below the fold...
We (Mrs Zhimbo and I) left from Hanover, NH a little after 6am, for the approximately 90 minute drive to Manchester.
New Hampshire is a lovely state, and watching the mountain mists in the early morning are a nice reward for getting going so early. This picture, taken through the windshield, doesn't truly convey the feeling, but it's a start:
We arrive a little before 8am and park in downtown Manchester:
The line was looooongg, and we find our place several blocks away:
That's Mrs. Zhimbo and me in the 2nd photo. Once the line started moving, it moved very quickly and efficiently - gotta give props to the campaign, its workers and volunteers, and security for a well-run show all around.
The overnight clouds and rain had long since moved on, and the crowd enjoyed a lovely warm morning waiting for the show.
oldbookguy's diary, linked above, has great photos of the various speakers, but here's my pic of Gov. and Dr. Lynch:
And, of course, of the next President:
The crowd loved this man. It was a bit of a toned-down stump speech, and opened with some words regarding Hurrican Ike and its aftermath in the Gulf, but had some rousing moments, to be sure.
Finally, maybe the most photographed crowd member there:
And, Obama in action (pardon the poor camera work: I don't have a proper video camera, and had to hold the camera above my head for a good view, so framing and steadiness are issues):
UPDATE: No longer do you have suffer through my crappy vids...here's the official version from the Barack campaign.
