Biden Biding His Time
It is fascinating that, rather than choose Hillary Clinton, a Scorpio, for his running mate, Barack Obama chose Joseph Biden, a Scorpio. Obama is Leo. Leo and Scorpio are a constantly recurring pair. For example, Bill and Hillary Clinton. I said in yesterday's report that beginning October 4 we might see more clarity and definition in the presidential contest, because Mars would enter Scorpio then, rather than languish in Libra, a sign in which it is debilitated. Today an AP story by Nedra Pickler says that Biden, under the pressure of Sarah Palin's popularity, is planning a more prominent role in the campaign. "The campaign envisions a new role for him in making the closing argument against McCain." Pickler continues, "Part of Biden's appeal as a running mate is his comfort in debating rivals and tearing them down--something that isn't always Obama's strong suit . . . " This is intriguing because of course Scorpio, the sign of warriors and of death, has a strong reputation as being able to "debate rivals and tear them down." Leo, on the other hand, Obama's sign, is noble, even-handed, "above it all" as the sun, its ruling planet, and that is why Obama does not relish negative attacks. He feels he does not need to do that because his stature ought to be self-evident as the sunshine.
The article continues, "Biden spokesman David Wade said the Delaware Senator will be 'Mr. October.'" Hmm, did I not say yesterday that after Mars enters Scorpio (which happens to be Biden's sign) on October 4th the campaign would acquire more definition, free of the teeter-tottering of Mars in Libra? "'He's a closer,' Wade said. 'He's the vice presidential nominee you want slugging it out in the late innings when proven campaign skills, intestinal fortitude, expertise and experience matter most.'" We shall see, but of course a "closer" is what Scorpio very well can be. Perhaps Hillary may choose to be a "closer" for Obama also.
