I love good editorial cartoons....they can succinctly wrap up complex situations in a compelling and visual way that uses a good dose of dark humor to drive the barb home... great ones have the power to topple empires... witness Thomas Nast's cartoons against the Boss Tweed machine in mid-19th Century New York City... Nast by the way, was the guy who gave us the elephant for the Republicans and the donkey for the Democrats...

Seems to me that using editorial cartoons as campaign ads would be a devastating and effective way to cut to the heart of the Rethuglican dragon... when it comes to explaining complex political and economic issues in a way that most people can readily grasp... editorial cartoons are worth tens of thousands of words and millions of airtime dollars...
