I have been wondering why I don't enjoy DailyKos as much as I used to. Tonight I figured it out.
For years this was my go-to site. Before the 2006 election, the excitement was palpable. I and a number of co-workers used to gather and trade the latest news from the election front.
Every day there was something substantive and interesting contributed by various sources widely scattered across the country. It was the first place I would go in the morning and the last I'd scan at night.
No more.
Tonight I realized that it was like visiting a family that I had gone through tough times with but who had descended into bickering and arguing. No longer was it you and me against the world. It was you and me against each other.
Four rec'd diaries out of eight were completely devoted to being pro-Obama. Others were fighting age wars (which seemed to echo the polls that Obama-ites are young and educated). Still others were dissing Bill Clinton, doing a better job than the Republicans.
JUST STOP IT!
I'm a Democrat and my Presidential preference is my own business. If I don't get my choice I will vote for whichever Democrat gets the nomination. Period.
And, yes, I will defend and respect any past Democratic President including Bill Clinton.
So stop bickering, children of all ages, respect each others' choices and opinions, and keep in mind we are all family here. And family comes first.
