Hey Kossacks-
It is a pretty eventful day here so far, massively overshadowed by the loss of Edwards. Amidst all of the battling, mourning and infighting, I urge all of us Dems to rejoice in a simple fact- Rudy is sunk. Yes, Rudy is sunk and we didn't have to do a damn thing about it. We still have other Repugs to worry about, but IMHO Rudy was by far the most overtly evil of the bunch. I feel the need to glory in this a little bit- the fall of the one-time front runner, mustering only 15% in what will be his best showing of the campaign. The question-and the subject of the poll, is this: Why was he not supported by his party in this primary season?
There are two conflicting parts in me regarding this. One, the hopeful side, believes that maybe our more conservative brethern, while often clearly misled and deluded, were in this case able to recognize a true potential for disaster, and made a choice with the best interests of the country in mind. The cynical side gives them no such credit, and believes he was rejected due to lifestlyle choices and the wedge issue of abortion. What do you think? Let's take some time for a little therapeutic celebration and have a little fun.
