To be truthful, my conversion was a bit forced. I have been a steadfast Edwards supporter since early January 2003 when he first declared his candidacy for the presidency in the 2004 election. I was inspired by his passion and his commitment to bringing the "two Americas" together in 2004, and more recently, I was energized by his insistence on giving voice to the voiceless, whether they be trapped in poverty, suffering from government inaction after Hurricane Katrina, or ignored by our country even after fighting for it.
Despite my strong dedication to Edwards, I knew exactly what I was going to do upon hearing him suspend his campaign. I got on my laptop and immediately logged in to my account at barackobama.com. I’ve emailed those in my community who have already been active. I’m energized. I’m inspired. I’m ready to fight. I’m ready to take back my government. And I’m ready to take as many people with me in the process.
Forgive the brevity, but I need to be fighting for something, and I want to start with this diary. Now that Edwards is out, I’m going to make sure I’m using all of my energy to see a change in the way this country operates.
Obama Kossacks, I'm with you. Fired up. Ready to go.
