It's not actually necessary to go into a diary and mock other people. It's not necessary to troll the diaries looking for something nice said about a candidate you don't support just so you can piss on the parade. It's possible to disagree without demonizing. It's possible to have different points of view without belittling. It's possible, in fact, to carry on a political conversation in primary season without acting like you are stuck in some kind of fucking high school hell.
Though you might not be able to tell it from here.
I am not a member of any organized political party. I am a Democrat.
-Will Rogers
There are reasons the Democrats implode time and time again. You mealy-mouthed, thin-skinned, everyone-is-against-us trollers are the reason why.
You are the reason the Democrat party has lost so many times. Yes, you.
When someone says that they like Obama, don't go into the comments bitching about some slumlord, or making fun of hope or bitching that he is just too something. Take a deep breath, goofball and move on. Go do something to help Hillary.
When someone says they like Clinton, don't go into DLC palpitations. Don't get the corporate vapors. Don't go screaming into your room like a teenage girl screaming, "HOW COULD YOU!?! YOU'VE RUINED MY LIFE!!". Just go help Obama.
It's gonna be alright. Really.
If you support the Democrats, really and truly support them, then you don't want a damaged candidate coming out of the primaries. Don't do the Republican's oppo research for them. It's silly. And stupid.
We have already created an historic Presidential Election. Our candidate this time around is not going to be a white man. First time fucking ever, people. Let it sink in for a minute. No matter who wins, we win. Because whether you support him or her, you are on the right side of the equal rights line in history.
Now just try to get on the right side of the asshole line, sparky.
