(Just a little hyperbole there. ;))
Dixville Notch, a teeny town way up north in New Hampshire near the Canadian border, holds the first primary in the state at midnight. Thirteen people were present to vote and there were four absentee ballots which were determined to be the total number of voters registered for that precinct and thus the vote was complete.
Follow me below the fold for the results!
OBAMA - 7
Clinton - zero
Edwards - 2
Richardson - 1
McCain - 4
Guiliani - 1
Romney - 2
(Hope I got those Repub numbers right. I wasn't really paying attention to them!)
The reporter noted that the town is normally Republican leaning with a number of Independents. Democrats don't usually have much presence. Until this year! But there's never been a Democratic candidate like Barack Obama either.
So Obama's on his way!! Here's hoping every other precinct falls the same way. Woo hoo!! I'm so excited.
