I dedicate this to anyone who has lost a loved one or a friend in Iraq. We shouldn't be in Iraq, we shouldn't have gone there to begin with. Let us not forget those still serving there during this July 4th where ever it is you are. Whether it be protesting locally, at your state capitals, or just having traditional family gatherings with no protesting at all.
May God watch over all those there in Iraq and may they come home safe soon!
My eyes are wide open
Now the grief has arrived
Things are not fine
I can't keep the mourning inside
They turn their heads like faithful sheep
As tears stream down my weathered cheeks
Ignoring the sorrow that I'll have to keep
And as I march in hopes to release my sorrow
They shout you traitor
Anti-American you
Move from my country
Anti-American you
But the blood is on their hands
I feel something is due
And deep within they know all we say is true
The cowards they say, "That I won't pay."
But there will definitely come a day
And at that time we will shout you traitor
The disgrace of you
Leave our country
Anti-American you
It has been two years now
Since he's been taken away
I stand my position since I have nothing left to lose
I've been brought down and my loved one used
Will the cowardice ever come to see the day?
That war was waged with disgrace
That one day their cost will have to come too
Will I then shout you traitor?
Anti-American you
Move from my country
Anti-American you
Yes, I'll shout to the heavens
I see the traitor in you
Move from my country
Anti-American you
I was warned of you from the founding fathers
My eyes are wide open
Now grief has set in
