If you have not done so yet, register to vote NOW...
Even if you are like me, a Wisconsin resident, where our primary will have little or no influence on the outcome of who the Democratic or Republican will nominate to represent their respective parties, as many people as possible need to vote.
We need to start NOW to ensure voters are registered and ready to vote in November. If this happens, whatever shenanigans are tried by the Republicans(and there will be plenty), the voter turnout and results will be too obvious to steal. Why do Americans procrastinate when it comes time to register to vote? In Wisconsin there is same day registration so we are spoiled, but other states require waiting periods, that is why we need to start now.
In the last election in France there was an 85% voter turnout.
from Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/...
The first round saw a very high turnout of 85% — 37.6 million of the 44 million electorate voted from a population of 62 million.[2][3][4] The results of that round saw Sarkozy and Royal qualify for the second round with Sarkozy getting 31% and Royal 26%.
I know that many people cannot be pried away from sports, shopping, tv, etc., however, we need to really up the voter participation in the US. Residents agree with Democrats on the issues down the line, we just need to get people to get off their behinds and show up on election day.
How do we increase voter turnout? How do we swamp the election precincts in November like what is happening now in New Hampshire?
Why are Americans so impatient that we need to know the winner of any election the moment the polls close? Why can't we wait like Canada?
Suggestions, comments.
