There's a lot of talk going on about Hillary skipping Nevada and South Carolina if she doesn't win New Hampshire tonight. At first, I thought it makes sense, because then she can focus on the super Tuesday states and maybe regain some ground.
Then I hit a wall.
It was the "What The Hell" wall.
Up until now, I'd been convinced that the anti-Hillary sentiment was simple dislike of a candidate, and to back it up, the charge that she's inhuman, robotic and overall too calculating.
But, I gave her a fair shot, or tried to, I think. But this week really has taken some effort to see anything in Hillary except what others have been saying was there all along: a calculating inhuman politician.
Skipping over the near tears episode, we come to the idea that she may skip South Carolina and Nevada in favor of trying to win in the super Tuesday states. I heard this on the news, on POTUS 08 and on various blogs.
To me, that is the best evidence of all that she does not care about the people. She cares about the delegates that those people will give her. How can you claim to want to help Americans when you specifically skip a huge swath of people because there are "more" people elsewhere?
That is wrong, and I hope someone, anyone, and everyone trounces her severely in those states. And if you live in one of those states she may skip, why would you even consider voting for her? I don't even live there, and it makes me mad to even think about.
She criticizes Obama for his healthcare plan not covering every American. I don't know if it does or not, to tell you the truth. But if she can't even go SPEAK to Americans in certain areas because she might not win, well, screw her, I say.
And, if she is similarly conceding states to Obama, or anyone else by simply giving up before even trying, then she's not the leader that I thought she could have been.
I understand the logic of not wanting to waste money in a state you probably won't win. But I think it says something about those candidates who choose to skip states entirely for that reason.
