A few weeks ago I wrote a diary about Ohio's "Golden Week" - the ONE week in which Ohioans can REGISTER AND VOTE all at once. With our help, the Golden Week campaign raised almost $90,000 in a little over a week. None of that money went to consultants. None of it went for lavish hotels or fancy meals. The money went directly to votes for Obama.
Now they are starting to report on their progress as they go along. September 30 was the first day of "Golden Week." In Columbus, the GOTV crew helped 108 homeless Ohioans vote. Other groups helped students vote at schools like Bowling Green State University and Wilberforce College.
The BEST news of all is that they have so many volunteers and eager would-be voters can use 5 more vans and a little more gas money. The price tag: $4750.
