The foreign policy debate was supposed to be John McCain's "firewall." He supposedly has the experience to be a leader in foreign policy realm; so when he was presented with his moment of truth in the form of the first 2008 presidential debate, he clearly fumbled. He even admits it was a tie!
With articles like "It's McCain's debate to lose," written before the debate, and the post-debate polls giving Round 1 to Obama 51-38, you would have to wonder why he lost.
Today, on NPR, he explains why....
I would go as far as to classify this a genuine slip up that the McCain campaign would have preferred we did not see.
But, when he was asked:
Given what you've said, senator, is there an occasion where you could imagine turning to Gov. Palin for advice in a foreign policy crisis?
Did he really mean to say:
I've turned to her advice many times in the past. I can't imagine turning to Sen. Obama or Sen. Biden, because they've been wrong.
Because that's what he said.
The man with all the experience in foreign policy has turned to the Gov. from Alaska who can see Russia from her house for "her advice MANY TIMES in the past" on Foreign policy?
It seems like he doesn't even care anymore. Don't let your pencil/pen/finger get near McCain's name on your ballot. If Palin is already calling the foreign policy shots, and their campaign is deceiving the American people at every turn, what more evidence do you need that this would be Bush/Cheney III?
