I don't know if this has been diaried yet but another poll has come out this evening showing Obama taking a sizable lead against John McCain.
The CBS/NYT poll has Obama ahead among registered 49-40, which is his biggest lead of the year.
Among likely voters it's 50-41.
The internals of this poll confirm the findings of Pew, Time and AP. Obama won the debate. Palin is a net negative now. Obama does better on the economy than McCain. And Obama has shown better leadership abilities during the financial crisis than McCain.
Obama also does slightly better among Democrats (85-8) than McCain does among Republicans (82-12). With Independents Obama leads by 5.
The party ID breakdown among registered voters was 37D-31R, so a fairly typical margin.
It seems that conservative Democrats are fueling Obama's recent rise in most polls. These are the folks in Appalachian Ohio that support the Democrats on economic policy but are culturally conservative. The financial crisis is reminding them of what's really important.
Anyway, I wanted to put another diary up on a good poll for Obama.
