Yesterday on Democracy Now Amy did the whole show on Voter supression, Voter Fraud, and how to steal your vote back.
Her first segment was on an investigation by Greg Palast BBC News of Voter Fraud in New Mexico, Colorado, and Michigan. The Democrats and Republicans are both guilty of this, however the Republicans have become experts, and guess who is behind it. Our wonderful friend/enemy Karl Rove.
Greg Palast launched a website called Steal your vote back. You can link to the website below. There is a comic book that you can download and print, so that you know your rights and what you can do about it. Please spread this around.
Here is the link to download the comic book: http://www.gregpalast.com/...
In case you don't have enough time to watch the whole show here are some tips:
- Vote early if you can in your State, this way if there is any problem with your registration you have time to fix it. I believe you can check your registration online in most States.
- Make sure you take your id with you. If there is a discrepency from your voter registration and your license they won't let you vote.
Example: JR. on your Driver's License but not on your Registration they can deny your vote.
- Avoid if at all possible Absentee voting, don't mail in your vote, go to the polls. If there is anything wrong with the Absentee Ballot they will throw it out and they will not notify you, therfore you won't know about it. Plus the Absentee ballots have to have a copy of your picture ID. I don't know if that applies in all States.
- Please don't wear any Campaign buttons, shirts, from any candidate. They can deny your vote if you do. However, this may not be the case in all States. Better to be safe than sorry.
- Allot of people that work in these Precincts may not be well informed or try to intimidate your right to vote. So download the comic book and it explains what you do to steal your vote back.
- Know your rights if you are a former convicted felon in your State or if your house is in Foreclosure, visit the Secretary of State homepage from your State, there is excellent information there. The rules for people with past felony conviction have the right to vote, but it differs in every State.
These are just few things to know. If you have time to see the whole show it is well worth it. She also had Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner from Ohio on. She did a thorough investigation in her State after the debacle in Ohio in 2004, it was very interesting information as to what she found. I read some of the report awhile back, I can't find the website, but you can visit Jennifers here. http://www.jenniferbrunner.com/...
I hope this is helpful, please get the word out, we have what 27 days now. Let's be ahead of the Republicans and don't let them take your rights away, well at least not anymore rights.
