what is the reaction? What's the best way to spend the energy?
Please, brush aside the tinfoilers and their conspiracies. What do run of the mill Obama supporters do in the event of a McCain win?
I have several suggestions:
- Letter writing. Not to senators or reps. Letter writing to newspapers. Newspapers people actually ready. Express your dissatisfaction and provide clear explanations.
- Demand that McCain includes all viewpoints. We are far stronger with a unified statement based on the best of all rather than the misguided beliefs of a few.
- If there is ANY questionable voting procedures, DEMAND that they be investigated to the fullest extent of the law. Regardless of who wins, we must NEVER tolerate election fraud. If we do, let's just give up now because we are done.
- probably the most important - make sure you get your sympathetic local reps and other politicians elected(or re-elected). The local government of communities goes a long way towards influencing the political beliefs of the people in those areas.
Personally, I do not think there will be much of a difference between a McCain or Obama presidency. However, if we demand what we deserve regardless of the winner, we actually might get some decent leadership for a change.
Time to stop being weak, America! Demand accountability from our leaders. Only then can we call ourselves free.
