Hello all! We just returned from a whirlwind meetup hosted by Common Sense Mainer and Bill in Portland, ME. What a great crowd and a fun afternoon! Join me below for the pictures!
Michael and Bill were waiting for all of us at the entrance to DeMillo's Floating Restaurant, a popular destination for vistors to Portland (the ORIGINAL Portland, sorry Oregonigans). We were all escorted to a great table with a lovely view of Portland harbor. Today is an absolutely perfect fall day and it couldn't have been prettier on the water!
Joining the party were Stage Mom (Jane) and Mr. Stage Mom (Matt) who are staying in Boston for a year. They live in the SF Bay area, Mr. Phoebe 1st was with me (along with Miss Phoebe) and we sat right across from the Stage Mom family, so we had a great talk with them. Also joining the party were Jeni JBL55 and her hubby Jim, Anne a/k/a Anne Elizabeth, Savannah a/k/a Hotlanta, Mary a/k/a Simple, Mike, "42", Stormy visiting from MI, Pat (Tall Mom), Dave-DDitt, Debbie in ME and the ever popular Ed Tracey.
It was such an amazing group of people and when the Phoebe 1st family departed, everyone was still in high spirits, wining and dining.
I want to share the slide show with you, but wanted to add that last night Mr. Phoebe1st and myself joined Phoebe1st's two big brothers at a Barack The Vote event at The Asylum in Portland, where many people gathered to celebrate Obama and other downticket candidates including Tom Allen and Chellie Pingree. We picked up some bumper stickers (nearly impossible to find anywhere) and I bought a cool t-shirt which you will see in the slide show. If the war ever comes to an end, I will wear it (I may wear it to bed anyway) because, as you know, I am still wearing the Darcy Burner inspired </war> shirt every day since the second week in July, and will continue to wear it until the freaking war is OVER.
Finally, after the meetup today, we drove out to the Campaign for Change headquarters in Portland to pick up a couple of yard signs. We're hoping to outshine our nextdoor neighbors and neighbors across the street who are both sporting icky gross McCain/Palin signs - ugh.
Anyway, here are the photos. It was a really fun meetup and thanks to Michael and Bill for a heckuvanicetime. I hope you all enjoy it!
