One victory out of who knows how many voter purge violations. HOpefully if Obama win there will be comprehensive voter reform. Hopefully this includes
- Same date registration - this in my opinion will remove any opportunity for any political group to purge voters from the rolls because. The voter would be able to register and vote at the same time
- Absentee ballot on request
- Voter verifiable ballots
- Voter registration and voting ID to include gov issued, state issued, utility, credit bills, college IDs.
- early voting
- College students to be allowed to vote there college residence as an address.
I'm guessing the big states would oppose #1 but this is the only or maybe the simplest way to counter what going on now. Congresses big problem is that it lacks vision. Always go for the quick fix. any other suggestions.

DETROIT -- A federal judge on Monday ordered Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land to restore to the voter rolls the names of more than 1,500 Michigan voters he says were illegally purged.
The American Civil Liberties Union hailed the ruling by U.S. District Judge Stephen J. Murphy as "a victory for Michigan voters and the integrity of our democratic process."
Kelly Chesney, a spokeswoman for Land, said complying with Murphy's order before the Nov. 4 election will be "very labor-intensive," and the ruling could result in Michigan's qualified voter file being clogged with bogus names and addresses.
In a 43-page opinion, Murphy ruled that Michigan's Secretary of State violates federal law through two methods it uses to purge names from its list of qualified voters.
