...for Obama/Biben of course. The Chicago Tribune reported yesterday that a record number of Chicagoans came out to vote early yesterday (approximately 12,000!!) and some even waited in lines. Wonderful. Stupendous. Democracy at work. Hurray hurray!! There are still 2 weeks left for early voting and about 50 sites all around the city- in every ward.
I got there prompty at 9:05 am. There were already about 5 people voting. Very diverse group in regards to age & race & sex. When I left, there were a few more strolling in. The poll workers were exceptionally eager to assist with the machines and it all went swimmingly. Really, I'm just so happy to have this behind me.
I really do hope that this will go a long way in attempting to curb all the expected problems on Nov. 4th and that it will make for a smoother process. Whoever said Chicago doesn't work?!
I guess my fellow citizens in Indiana are screwed. The local judge will hear the case today, I think, [after the federal judge sent it back down the chain] about the blocking moves the GOP lawyers are making to keep the urban area early voting polls closed- shitbags!! They know that historically Gary and other urban centers always vote Democratic.
