Not having paid very close attention to the campaigns the last two days or so, I've caught only fleeting glimpses of it in passing, and I imagine this is what it's like all the time for the average low-information American voter.
And what I'm getting from the right is "Voter Fraud". Nevermind that there hasn't yet been a vote.
My question, as this dingleberry of an issue gains currency among the Palinites and the Dittoheads, is this:
How close are we to hearing George W. Bush say something like this through his nose?
Ladiess and Gentlemen, at this crucial juncture, heh, in our nation's history, a free and fair election is an absolute necessity. In light of the ongoing investigation into massive corruption and ... malfeasance in our voter registration process, only the postponement of the election until such time as is necessary to implement a system of positive voter identificaiton across the country has passed. I am appointing a PRESIDENTIAL Blue Ribbon committee to begin the steps of implementing this system.
Seriously? This is getting out of hand, but it must be addressed. They have given up the race and are preparing for the lawsuits, people. They've already got the army back to help deal with the shitstorm.
I've said it a hundred times: There is no way in hell that the Bush administration is going to willingly hand over to a genuine opposition candidate the power it has claimed for itself for the past eight years. They will do whatever is necessary to stay in power.
Hell, with the right whipped up into a froth by the Palin-led Two Minutes Hate every day, they probably couldn't have picked a better time to try something. We're already this close to an eruption in this country. It won't take much.
