Kossaks are familiar with (soon to be former) Senator Santorum's completely irrational statements essentially implicating a liberal environment in Boston as contributing to the Catholic Diocese sex abuse scandal. Does anyone really believe the Catholic Diocese of Boston is where this behavior originated?
We could likewise blame the liberal environment in Pakistan as contributing to the rape of women such as Mukhtar Mai. I think anyone with half a brain (myself included) understands that an environment in which the accuser is persecuted is not one where we should expect victims to publicly proclaim their injury. Such is the case (I think) in Toledo with a law enforcement coverup on behalf of the Catholic diocese of abuses similar to those occurring in Boston.

One could easily surmise that such a disciplined oppression of the facts would involve not only law enforcement, but elements of the judicial system. The analogy should be clear enough for even a moron like Santorum to understand. The liberal environment did not foster the abuse; the liberal environment fostered empathy and understanding of the injustice to right the wrong.
