I'm a black woman with a black husband and black children. We don't live in fear. I've dealt with racism all of my life. It has never stopped me from going out the front door and doing what I have to do. I will be voting for Barack Obama this week with my husband. If hateful racist think they will stop me from voting for fear of them, they will be sorely disappointed. I live in a small city with a nationally known white supremist church headquarters, yet there are tons of interacial families here. We live our lives.
After my husband and I vote, we will have a nice dinner and later that night we will sleep very peacefully. When Barack is elected, we will not worry about him or us.
More than death itself, I fear a country that will not elect Barack Obama a man who has shown the wisdom and leadership that we desperately need at this time in our collective history as America teeters on the brink of collapse. More than anything else, I fear a nation that would elect John McCain after the 8 years of horror that the republicans led by Bush/Cheyney and co-signed by McCain has heaped upon our nation and other nations.
More below the fold
Barack has proven to be way ahead of the game in respect to what is down the road. He knows that we have terrorist cells in this country (KKK, Skinheads etc.) who will not be at all pleased that he is elected. I trust him to keep us safe on our own soil from the terrorist that live within our borders. I trust him and his administration to deal with homegrown terrorist so swiftly and with such force that no one would want to join them.
So I am voting (once again) for Barack Obama because a future with out him terrifies me much more than any psychotic racist, spewing hate at a McCain Palin rally ever will. These people existed before Barack and they will exist after Barack the only difference is under Barack Obama, they will be closely watched and if they even think they are going to engage in terrorist activities on American soil, they will be shut down and made an example of for anyone with similar inclinations.
Barack needs two terms to effect the kind of changes we need and to clean up the Bush mess. Every democrat and most republicans knows this. He will make sure that we want him back in that White house come 2012. That means keeping us safe and secure.
Let us understand what this is. This is a love movement. Love of our country, love of our children and family and it will not be overcome with hate. I look into my daughters beautiful eyes and I know I have brought them into this world of uncertainty but God has so graced me with an opportunity to help bring forth a brand new world for them filled with hope and possibility. There is nothing on earth that will stop me from doing my part to make this happen. No force strong enough save death. My love is to strong.
When I cast my vote, I will send with it all my love, all my hope for my darling children. With all my heart and soul and everything contained within them with hope for a beautiful new direction for the entire world. From my full heart I will send out hope and love to the darkest corners of this earth where hope and love have not yet reached.
Send your vote out into this universe with all the love and hope in your heart. We will set this world ablaze with hope and love.
