These are scary times for working people. After nine straight months of job loss, a housing crisis, and a collapse on Wall Street, we need to hear the candidates present clear plans for turning our economy in a new direction. Zach Mischo, a mail handler in Denver, says "first and foremost in everybody’s mind I think right now is the financial crisis. Every one of us of is feeling the effects of that and is going to for a long time to come."
McCain’s recent "I feel your pain" rhetoric on the economy simply doesn’t wash with working families. His record is clear. He’s spent more than a quarter century in Washington getting rid of rules governing Wall Street and supporting CEOs instead of families.

On every major economic issue, McCain represents more of the same. In Fact, he voted with George Bush 90 percent of the time. After eight years of failed Bush economic policies, it’s time for a new direction.
Obama has a plan to put the economy back on track. Obama’s economic plan is based on investing in the real economy by creating good jobs for America’s workers. Obama understands that we can’t emerge from this crisis unless we address its roots. His healthcare plan will lower premiums, increase access to care and substantially reduce the number of uninsured.
Cindy Kirby, a letter carrier in Denver, would like to hear "Obama layout more of his healthcare plan. Hopefully we’ll save the middle class, but we need to take care of them also, with benefits and retirement."
