For some reason John McCain and the Repubs are under the impression that we, the American taxpayers, have a problem with the government spending money on us. To help us at a time we need help. Pssst....we don't mind!!
I live in NC, own a small business, and things are getting tight. I am excited about Obama's relief plan. I am working in the GOTV to help make it become a reality.
I don't know anyone that has a problem with the government investing in infrastructure repair, tax incentives for job creations, improving education, including more teacher pay. These are good things. Most of us welcome anything that will increase jobs and help get this economy moving. Personally, I am not appalled at Obama spending money, he's spending it on us, not big business, not a foreign country, but on American citizens.
For some reason McCain wants to make an issue on Obama's spending, it is not causing the outcry that he had hoped for. Once again, I believe they have misread the voters. Now is a good time to spend money in government for the people. We send money and goods to country's around the world and when we need help, the congress acts as though we have invoked an unholy terror.
The plan Obama delivered Monday was detailed and made sense. I believe the polls are bearing this out. We really don't care that Obama is spending money, as long as it benefits the taxpayers.
