Is Joe the Plumber yet another hot-headed decision by McCain and his camp?
We have one diary on the Rec list already with excellent research on Joe Wurzelbacher already. But the facts are flowing fast and furious today.
Here's an email I just got:
Are you catching all of the 'Joe' news so far this morning?
He's a registered Republican.
He was already committed.
He doesn't actually have a plumber's license.
His county is suing him for unpaid taxes.
The company he wants to buy only has two employees, including the owner, yet it somehow makes over $250,000 profit!
And is a relative to.... wait for it... wait for it... Charles Keating!!!! AUGH!!!!
Boy, now there's a poster child!
Now, the actual Joe the Plumber chat with Obama only happened the day before yesterday, right?
If you are soft like me, you figure that someone in McCain's camp must watch all the video on the news or the internets for "gotcha" moments upon which they can catch Obama saying something bad - a la George "Macaca" Allen.
If you are paranoid, as most people seem to be today, you figure he's a plant and some Republican operative somewhere, if not in McCain's actual camp, or possibly Joe's relative Robert Wurzelbacher, Charles Keating's son in law, actually took Joe the Plumber to that Obama rally and made sure he got to the front to ask his question.
So, am I wrong, or is two days about the same amount of time Senator McSame took to choose Sarah Palin? Doesn't it seem like exactly the same kind of lack of judgement, lack of forethought in researching a spokesperson's background, and general erratic strategery?
They didn't research Palin too well and look what they got - Troopergate, animal cruelty, a wingnut father, book banning and an arena to nowhere in Wasilla, a lauded natural gas pipeline that will likely never be built. I could go on, but most Kossacks already know all this.
So now we have an actual "Joe Sixpack", oops, I mean "Joe the Plumber" - and he's as big a fraud as Palin. Not actually a licensed plumber. Registered Republican. Owns other businesses already. Wants to buy a two person plumbing outfit (has anyone called the owner to ask if he's ready to retire any time soon?). Related to a man who has already been convicted of defrauding the general public and the government (fraud, racketeering and conspiracy, fyi). And owes over $1,800 in back taxes?
McCain's staff is supposed to be experienced, right? They're supposed to be savvy political operatives, no? Dude, I'm not and I run my local political and conservation efforts better than this!
McCain = Bush in re: totally illogical and ill-considered decision making - though W consults Jesus whereas Johnny consults, well, what? You can decide in the spiffy poll below...
