It seems increasingly likely that hate-mongress Sarah Palin will make a cameo appearance on SNL which will be hosted by Josh Brolin. I never really expected the NBC producers to be able to overlook the likely record ratings they will achieve, and opt not to provide a free advert for someone who is actively and aggressively inciting hatred across this country. The problem is that, in our entertainment-obsessed society, political cameos can have an impact; all the more so when the politician in question refuses any conventional interviews or press conferences. More below.
Here is the question: does this have to be a win-win for Palin? I'm not so sure. Although she is pretty skillful when it comes to sarcasm, hatred, and resentment, thus far she has shown no real ability to be self-deprecating. Can she be tempted into a comedic ambush? Or is it safer to just boo the hell out of her?
