Senator McCain's campaign today has released the following statement:
It is clear the American voters are in the tank for Obama. It is clear from polling nationally and in swing states that the public is unwilling to consider our message of change from the last 8 years of Republican policies, while they are so willing to accept Senator Obama's message of change from those Republican policies. That is a clear bias which simply cannot stand.
Therefore, I am asking the Commission on Presidential Campaigns to replace the American electorate with the electorate of one of our allies. Recent polling of all of our closest European allies suggests that the electorate of almost all of those countries, too, are in the tank for Obama. We also tried the people of Iraq, but they, too seem to be in the tank for Obama.
Therefore, I propose that the American electorate be replaced with the electorate of the people of the former Soviet state of Georgia. Those people can best determine whether defense against Russia is a more pressing issue than domestic economic.
Governor Palin added:
I look forward to bringing my message of reform to the small town hockey moms of Georgia. If you get on one of the really tall mountains here in Alaska, you can almost see Georgia, so I understand what you are going through.
