After the Houston Chronicle Endorsed Barack Obama and Joe Biden I have been enjoying the comments section of the online story.
This is a modern landmark comparable to the Chicago Tribune. They haven't endorsed a Democrat since they broke for one election cycle to endorse Texan LBJ.
After sifting through over 700 of them here is a list of my top 20 favorite comments that follow the endorsement.
Top 20 Below!
I really enjoy the people who evidently have never read an editorial before or understand their purpose in a newspaper. I bet there are around a hundred of this type of comment:

The Chronicle shouldn't be invoved in politics. It shows your bias against reporting the real news about the election polls.

When you say "Chronicle endorses" what are you really saying? The editor wants Obama to win? The head of the corporation that owns the Chronicle wants Obama to win? The staff of the Chronicle took a vote and more people voted for Obama? What's up with that? And why should I or anyone else care?

Should newspapers even endorse anyone? They are, by purpose, to provide news. Anything else is propaganda and that's what the Chronicle provides, left wing propaganda. And still circulation plummets.

Ummm...the endorsement ran on the editorial page...that might have been the first clue that it wasn't "news"

Since when do newspapers have the right to vote? Did the Chronicle take a vote and 100% of its employees indicate that they will support Obama? Although the information contained within is well written, it's not news, it's commentary, please call it such.
I personally don't think either candidate is worth voting for, although I will enventually cast a vote, since that is my right as an American citizen.
Thought news was supposed to to fair and unbiased (not). Give us the facts and let us, those with the ability to vote, choose.

Someone listens to a little too much AM Radio

It's a waste of time to talk about B. Hussein Obama. He was born in Kenya, a lawsuit is in the courts to disqualify him.

Nothing brave about the Chronicle's endorsement of Obama. I canceled my subrcription to the Chronicle years ago because of their pro-homosexuality, liberal bias.
There are only three reasons for anyone to vote for Obama:
- Because he's black and the race of the presidential candidate is the only thing that matters.
- Because you are SOCIALIST, or worse have COMMUNIST leanings in favor of government controlling every aspect of yours and your neighbor's life.
- Because you are lazy and uninformed. This related to #1 and #2 and can be tied to the free handout, or what's in it for me mentallity.
Unfortunately with Hussein Obama, Pelosi and Reed in charge we can look forward to:
a. Nationalized healthcare (aka. HillaryCare) lazy people don't realize this has to be paid for by someone (us)!
b. More government control of the private economy (SOCIALISM).
c. More union control of the workplace (SOCIALISM), Trash secret ballot union elections The "Employee Free Choice Act"
d. Higher taxes for individuals and businesses. (Can you say economic downturn?) Government is funded by TAXES, which have to come from somewhere. (IDIOTS!)
e. End of free speech. Those who have an opposing / politically incorrect view will no and longer be free to express them. Also, reenactment of the "fairness doctrine" to shut down conservative talk radio.
f. Voting. ACORN backed election-day voter registration, felons, illegals voting.
g. Abortion on demand.
h. "Net neutrality" rules subjecting the internet to regulation making it no longer a place where opinions can be voiced. (Can you say CHINA?)

The Houston Chronicle is a rag of a newspaper . It leans so far to the liberal left that it is almost comical. If there was another newspaper in our area (as there should be) to chose from ,their suscribers numbers would go down to zilch. As for endorsing Obama and Biden, that comes as no great shock. Thank God the endorsement from this paper carries no clout.Just as the Democratic nomonies..

If BO and old Joe are elected this conservative (not republican) will support them with the same enthusiasm as the lefties supported GWB. I will stay out of the economy as much as possible, and deal in cash and barter when possible. The good thing is that midterms are two years away and after two years of hard core socialism maybe another Newt will surface and regain the congress like 1994.

I don't quite follow his logic, but then again, I don't follow a lot of Republican logic

You people better take the time to study up some on your savior, Hussein Obama, before the election and learn a little about him. He was born in Kenya, went to Muslim schools, along with his wife he hates America and has said he will send much of American money to Africa. His close friends hate America. He is the ultimate anti-gun candidate along with gun grabber Joe Biden.
