John McCain today made a statement critical of Barack Obama's position on dealing with the economic crisis. McCain accused Obama of planning to "raise taxes and restrict trade" (sic) and argued that such policies would lead us deeper into recession. McCain concluded with the familiar aphorism, those who do not remember the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them.
How ironic that McCain should say this. More below the fold.
Those who do not remember the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them.
I respond with two words: Vietnam. Iraq.
Who has forgotten the lessons of history? Who is so self-unaware that he does not recognize what he has done?
