As a lifelong Yankee fan, I naturally rooted for the Rays to defeat the Sox in the ALCS. Yes, I enjoy seeing the Sox go down, but how could I not appreciate the story of the worst-to-first Tampa Bay Rays? Now, I've got even more reason to root for them to win it all.
When Obama spoke today at the Yankees spring training stadium (how awesome is that?) he was introduced by Rays rookie phenom David Price and joined by teammates Carl Crawford, Cliff Floyd, Jonny Gomes, B.J. Upton, Edwin Jackson, and Jason Bartlett. It says something about these guys that the day after they win a berth in the World Series that they decided to go to a political rally. Maybe there's not much to do in Tampa on a Monday, but I choose to believe it's because they realize what an important election this is and how Obama is the only man for the job. With so much negativity in the race (and so much stress), seeing this makes me happy.
